梵蒂岡古代手寫稿 將數位化上網

梵蒂岡圖書館展開一項計畫，將把羅馬天主教教會起源至20世紀的大量歷史文獻數位化並放上網。

梵蒂岡圖書館館藏豐富，其中包含約8萬2000件手稿，共計4100萬頁。圖書館與日本電信電話株式會社數位部門（NTT Data）合作，希望掃描並數位化約150萬頁的手稿，初步計畫將耗費4年以上。

梵蒂岡圖書館設立於14世紀晚期，是全世界最重要歷史文獻收藏地之一。館藏除了大量手寫文獻，還包含160萬本書和大型錢幣與圖像。

梵蒂岡圖書館檔案保管員布魯格斯說，即將數位化手寫稿源自前哥倫布時期的美洲以至遠東地區的古代中國和日本，跨越各種語言和文化。
