竹田國小故事牆 敘述校園歷史

竹田國小故事牆提供學生一個休閒、學習歷史空間。

屏東縣竹田國小建置「故事牆」，在校舍走廊打造一個小空間，講述當地的人文故事，讓學生、散步民眾都能閱讀竹田的過去，第一個故事就以日據時代和竹田結緣的「水谷雪奶奶」為主題。

竹田國小在日據時代為竹田野戰病院，水谷雪的丈夫水谷政美因太平洋戰爭被徵召出征，1945死於竹田野戰病院，水谷雪將兩個女兒養大，在1981年踏訪竹田國小尋找丈夫的身影，將竹田視為第二故鄉，常來訪，且捐贈竹田國小多樣設備、發展基金。

故事牆設計者，竹田國小退休主任潘雪華說，水谷雪奶奶曾在2009年來台參加竹田國小畢業典禮，當時已高齡88歲，奶奶說，這是她人生最後一次來竹田，為免後來的學生忘了這段歷史，她才決定用「故事牆」記錄下來。

潘雪華表示，水谷雪奶奶和竹田國小的緣分，能教孩子很多，不僅是愛情，親情，更有當年戰爭背景、傷痛，也是另類的生命教育。

校長謝俊明表示，竹田國小有106年歷史，這裡發生過很多故事，藉故事牆的建構，讓這些故事成為校園一景，未來將陸續替換各種在竹田發生的故事，帶學生了解自己家鄉。
