美眾議員敦促美加強與台關係

據美聯社報導，美國民主及共和兩黨眾議員14日敦促美國政府加強與台灣的關係，並擔心美國削減國防預算將影響到台灣的F-16s戰機升級計畫。

眾議院外交事務委員會兩黨議員指責美國政府將美國與大陸關係，擺在比美國與台灣關係優先的位置，尤其是在軍售方面。

重量級眾議員英格爾 (民主黨)表示，他非常擔心美國空軍明年提升F-16s戰機計畫的預算將無著落，這可能會影響台灣「以合理成本」提昇150架F-16戰機的能力。

助理國務卿梅健華表示，美國政府於2011年承諾台灣提昇戰機的計畫將不會受到重大影響
