台北赤蛙成功繁殖 將返棲地

〔自由時報記者游蓓茹／台北報導〕「几嗚—几嗚」，這是瀕臨滅絕台北赤蛙的叫聲，在台灣三十三種青蛙中，台北赤蛙可說是台灣原生蛙類中，最具滅絕危機的物種，動物園從民國八十四年開始進行台北赤蛙的保育計畫，在溫室控制條件下也已成功繁殖，未來會安排這批新生台北赤蛙重返原棲地，繼續繁衍族群。

台北赤蛙在一九○九年首次由外國學者在台北八里發現而命名，雌性成熟個體約四公分，雄性更小只有兩到三公分，只生長在低海拔平原或丘陵地區中，水田與禾草叢生的池塘。但近十年來，因為棲息地的環境，正面臨農藥污染與土地開發壓力的區域，台北赤蛙在台灣已瀕臨滅絕。

北台灣十四個台北赤蛙分佈熱點中，現只剩四處仍有基本族群，分別是位於新北市的三芝、石門，及桃園縣的龍潭、楊梅四塊濕地，新北市政府在石門區以自然耕法打造一塊水梯田，動物園也在控制環境條件下，達到九成的孵化率，可成功穩定的孵化出台北赤蛙的蝌蚪。

未來，台北赤蛙新生族群，將會重返原棲地繁衍族群，呼籲民眾共同維護，讓台北赤蛙持續在野外生生不息。
