雜果蛋糕祝賀　大象夫妻歡度紅寶石婚

上海動物園裡的亞洲象「版納」和丈夫「八莫」即將「結婚」40周年（紅寶石婚）。園方前日為這對恩愛夫妻舉辦紀念活動，請來牠們第一任及現任的飼養員和遊客代表，與這對老夫妻拍照及製作「蛋糕」。

據動物園老員工憶述，1972年，8歲的母象「版納」由雲南西雙版納被運至上海動物園。1974年，「版納」情竇初開，上海動物園為牠從北京動物園覓得年長2歲的情郎「八莫」。兩頭亞洲象一見鐘情，從此結為夫婦。

1976年9月，2象擦出愛火花，懷孕的「版納」於1978年6月產下了第一個孩子「依納」。40年來，這對恩愛夫妻共繁育8個孩子，創下了亞洲象在中國動物園繁殖數目最多的紀錄。1995年，「版納」當上外婆，女兒「洱納」誕下第二代亞洲象「麗納」。

走過40年風雨的「版納」和「八莫」，依然相愛如初。「版納」和「八莫」的第一任飼養員衛寶弟和李招娣，以及不少旅客昨日亦前來祝賀這對大象，他們用新鮮的粥、玉米粉等混合而成的窩頭，再加上不同蔬果，為大象夫婦製作「蛋糕」。（大陸中心／綜合外電報導）
