抽水機旁 燄塭老婦輕鬆看雨

「這裡就是我的家，我還能去哪裡？」麥德姆颱風來襲，屏東佳冬鄉燄塭村幾名老婦說「我們早已準備好。」一派輕鬆坐在騎樓下聊天、欣賞雨景。

過往逢雨必淹的佳冬鄉燄塭村，最著名的「地標」就是刻畫下每一次淹水痕跡的「淹水紀錄牆」。儘管昨天當地雨勢不大，但有經驗的在地居民，早早就將屋裡的家當、鍋碗瓢盆移往高處，或用桌椅墊高，隨後就坐在屋簷下欣賞雨景。

今年73歲的周姓老婦說，自家的房子屋齡已舊，隨著地層下陷慢慢陷落，與當初的高度落差約30公分。問到颱風天下雨擔不擔心、為何不先移居他處？她笑著說，從年輕住到現在，「這裡就是我的家」，何況自從八八風災以後，政府投入大量經費治水，淹水情況已逐年改善，根本不用太過擔心。

佳冬鄉長賴清華，昨天領著陸軍機步333旅13員士兵，前往佳冬塭子抽水站進行抽水機架設作業。他表示，塭子抽水站是地勢較低窪地區，鄰近的雨水都會匯流此處，因此向縣府調撥十台移動式抽水機，將滯洪池內的水抽到海中，減少積水現象。
