下屆世界盃，可能仍是巴西國家隊核心的Neymar，接受採訪時提到，巴西已經盡力，但已經處於落後，在世界列強的競爭中需要迎頭趕上。

日前Neymar接受巴西〈環球〉電視台採訪，談起世界盃的挫敗，他說：「我們哭了，因為那是我們兒時的夢想，並設法努力站上那個舞台。」

巴西表現不如人意，Neymar不怪罪總教練Luiz Felipe Scolari的調度與用人，指出如果再選一次，還是會再選出一樣的23人名單，但須意識到巴西已經處於落後。

Neymar說：「我想巴西足球已經落後，落後給德國與西班牙，我們輸球了，我們必須要有足夠的擔當，承認這一點。」

整個國家足球面臨重建與換血，Neymar呼籲青少年球員們，要注意有些教練的指導會幫倒忙，他以自身為例說：「我學到的東西幾乎都是錯誤。」

他提到，過去訓練時，傳過來的球往朝著左腳過來，教練卻因為他是右撇子，要他用右腳接球，後來我爸糾正說，如果球往左腳方向過來，就用左腳接球。」

最後Neymar談到，自己會痛定思痛，未來4年內好好努力，於2018年俄羅斯世界盃實踐自己的夢想。
