Samsung Electronics has recently teamed up with some Taiwan universities, looking to nurture talent for app design. It is also offering SDKs for Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Gar 2 and Samsung Gear Fit to software developers.
To maintain its advantages, Samsung has been aggressively developing new hardware and functions and has invested heavily in building its in-house platforms and app market.
Samsung has also recently hosted a developer conference and the Samsung Smart App competition in Taiwan.
Currently, Samsung already has over 40,000 engineers in its R&D team and is looking to expand the number to 70,000 in the next five years, accounting for 25% of its total personnel.
