38歲鄧肯 (Tim Duncan) 延長賽最後19.4秒奮力一投，帶領馬刺延長賽力退雷霆，生涯第六度率隊闖進總冠軍賽，輝煌的職業生涯能否再添第五枚冠軍戒指？鄧肯說，這次不想再錯過了。

鄧肯說：「我們極度渴望這1場勝利，現在我們還需要4勝，而這一次，我們會辦到！」

馬刺將與熱火重演去年總冠軍賽戲碼，想起去年的交手，馬刺在第6戰距離總冠軍只差5.2秒，卻無力守成，鄧肯說：「從去年令人心碎的一敗中，我們重新凝聚專注力，這真的很不可思議。」

馬刺爭冠之路上卻有隱憂，當家控衛帕克 (Tony Parker)因左腳踝痠痛，下半場未再上場，傷勢狀況還不明朗。
