知情人士透露，蘋果 (Apple)(AAPL-US) 新一代行動裝置作業系統 iOS 8 很可能會支援分割螢幕的多工處理功能，讓 iPad 平板電腦的使用發揮到淋漓盡致。

《9to5Mac》週二 (13 日) 引述消息人士報導，上述 iOS 8 新功能將能讓 iPad 用戶同時間操作 2 個應用程式 (app)，並進行互動。截至目前，所有蘋果開發或在蘋果 App Store 線上軟體商店上架的 iPad app，都只能以全螢幕單一操作。

報導指出，在平板電腦上允許多工處理功能，微軟 (Microsoft)(MSFT-US) 的 Surface 平板電腦早已具備，稱為 snap (抓取)，讓使用者能將數個 app「抓到」螢幕上同時操作。這種功能在企業用戶中受到歡迎，且適合需要同時處理多重任務的用戶。

這樣的功能，讓 Surface 有機會變成真正的筆電替代品，並預告 iPad 將展現蘋果對於未來行動運算的遠景。知情人士補充，iOS 8 的分割螢幕多工，也鎖定讓 app 之間的互動更順暢，例如允許使用者將一軟體中的文字或影像直接拖曳到另一個軟體當中。
