火山暨地震研究所（Phivolcs）在通告中說，「馬永火山警示等級從第2級調升至第3級，這意味著馬永展現出相對高的不安定狀況，岩漿已瀕臨火山口，未來幾週可能爆發。」

馬永火山（Mayon）警示等級共分5級，以第5級為最高，代表火山正在發生「危險爆發」。

通告並稱，過去數小時之間，火山動盪情況明顯加劇，火山口已現紅光，昨天清晨5時至晚上8時，至少發生39次岩塊墜落事件，以及32次低頻率火山地震。

火山暨地震研究所建議民眾，不要進入火山口半徑6公里範圍的「永久危險區」、以及半徑7公里的「延伸危險區」，以免遭遇落石、土石流、岩漿、突然爆發或火山口崩塌等危險。

馬永火山所在的艾爾貝省（Albay）地方政府，已下令強制疏散約1萬名高風險區域的居民，並阻止好奇觀光客上山。

艾爾貝省災難協調單位今天上午召開緊急會議，準備因應任何突發狀況。
