英國高等教育機構QS(Quacquarelli Symonds)公司16日公布2014年到2015年最新世界大學排名，今年台灣共有7所大學進入前世界前400名，台灣科技大學從去年的412名躍升至371名，進步幅度達41名，是台灣前四百大進步最大的學校。

台科大校長廖慶榮說，台科大這幾年以多元及國際化為主軸，加強培養具國際移動力的專業人才，除了增加國際產學合作、歐盟合作，也舉辦國際研討會、選送師生到國外交換、實習，這些成果提高了台科大的國際聲望，是排名進步的最主要因素。

廖慶榮說，世界大學排名僅是學校辦學參考，不會視為重要指標。今年度台灣整體排名上升是一件好事，顯示頂尖大學計畫經費對台灣的大學仍有長遠的影響。
