阿蓮90歲「黑檀木」 列為紀念樹

市府農業局將阿蓮戶政所旁的黑檀木列為「高雄市特定紀念樹木」，阿蓮戶所主任沈秀美常在公忙之餘，向民眾介紹這棵樹的珍貴價值。

高雄市阿蓮戶政事務所旁有棵樹齡推估有90年的「黑檀木」，這棵樹經由本報獨家報導後，獲得市府農業局的重視，將這棵老樹列為「高雄市特定紀念樹木」，編號「阿蓮91毛柿」。

這棵樹的樹幹直徑有40公分、高則大約5公尺。農業局派員查看以後發現，這棵老樹生長勢良好。

不過，國立中興大學陳教授卻認為，這棵樹的「樹穴」太小，恐怕會影響到它的生長環境與壽命，建議農業局把樹幹邊的水泥鋪面挖掉一些，讓更多的水分流入根部。

這棵樹被列為「高雄市特定紀念樹木」後，阿蓮戶政所把它當成「鎮所之寶」，阿蓮戶所主任沈秀美表示，這棵樹不僅成為阿蓮區珍貴的「公共財產」，以後也要和農業局合作，把這棵樹列為農業旅遊導覽的「景點」之一。

據當地耆老表示，這棵樹是日據時期阿蓮分駐所成立當天，由所長種植的；後來這棵樹的產權所有人改為阿蓮戶政所。
