泰國陸軍總司令帕拉育當選新總理。

泰國的國家立法議會廿一日投票推選總理，陸軍總司令帕拉育順利當選新總理。帕拉育上台，引來泰國「強人」統治時代再臨疑慮。

六十歲的帕拉育在無人投反對票情況下當選。這項結果並不意外，國家立法議會是由軍事執政團任命，且帕拉育是唯一候選人。泰王蒲美蓬可望隨後同意這項總理人選任命。

軍事執政團誓言，將與未來的政府並行存在。帕拉育既是總理，又是軍事執政團領袖，外界認為，將有效鞏固軍方對泰國的控制。

泰國馬希敦大學講師高森說：「他取得了所有權力， 我不能不擔心，我們將進入強人時代。」帕拉育今年五月以不流血軍事政變推翻前總理盈拉，成為代理總理。
