摩托羅拉擬關閉在美唯一手機廠

（中央社德州沃斯堡2014年5月30日綜合外電報導）谷歌（Google）的摩托羅拉行動（Motorola Mobility）手機部門宣布，今年底前將關閉德州工廠。這是摩托羅拉行動在美國的第一家智慧型手機工廠，設立才1年。

美聯社報導，摩托羅拉行動發言人莫斯（WillMoss）說，由於旗艦機Moto X 銷售不振，而要維持作業的工廠營運成本太高。

這家工廠由承包商新加坡偉創力公司（Flextronics Ltd）負責營運。

即使許多智慧型手機在美國設計，但絕大多數手機在亞洲組裝。德州廠讓谷歌打著「美國製」名號宣傳，事實上組裝只是製作過程最後步驟，占智慧型手機成本極低。1支手機大部分成本是花在晶片、電池和螢幕，這些仍大多來自亞洲工廠。

莫斯說，德州工廠僱用約700名員工，負責組裝在美國上市的Moto X。他不願評論摩托羅拉是否留住這些員工。
