（中央社記者廖漢原華盛頓2014年5月15日專電）美國副總統拜登今天表示，美方嚴正關切中方在越南爭議海域採取的單邊行動，任何國家都不該挑釁，在爭議區域擴張領土宣示。

拜登（Joe Biden）在白宮會晤訪美的中共人民解放軍總參謀長房峰輝時說，美國嚴正關切中方在與越南的爭議海域採取單邊行動，並重申美方對各方的領土宣示不採取立場，任何國家都不該有挑釁的行為，在爭議區域內擴張領土宣示，影響區域和平穩定。

拜登和房峰輝再度確認，維持美中兩國發展軍事關係力度的重要性，雙方並就美中關係解決區域與全球性挑戰的議題進行對話。

另外，美國國務院副發言人哈夫（Marie Harf）在電話簡報中表示，美國一向支持人權與和平集會示威的權利，但各方均應克制，避免暴力。

她強調，美國與越南當局及地方政府保持密切接觸，持續關注事件發展；美方譴責造成傷亡的暴力行為，並敦促民眾行使言論自由權利時，須克制，避免暴力升級。
