超龐然資訊儲量！索尼開發185TB磁帶 可容納3700片藍光DVD

《Forbes》報導，曾經以隨身聽風迷全球的日本電子大廠索尼(Sony)(6758-JP)，今(6)日在國際磁學研討會(International Magnetics Conference)宣布資訊儲存的新技術，未來單一磁帶可望儲存高達185TB的資料量。

Sony官方網站指出，索尼運用傳統磁帶，結合濺鍍技術(sputter deposition)，使7.7奈米的極細微磁粒均勻鋪設在磁帶，其儲存密度每平方英吋可達148GB，為目前主流磁帶儲量的74倍。

科技網站《BGR》報導，以典型50GB的藍光光碟做比較，索尼185TB的磁帶，可以容納3700張藍光。

索尼表示，目前正努力將此技術推廣至實際面，像是資訊儲存、備份的應用，希望未來能根據這項突破研發出相關商品。
