每天守著「鹿兒女」 8旬翁養40年

周添財是養鹿達人。

每年4、5月間正值台灣水鹿採茸季節，高雄市岡山81歲的周添財，養鹿超過40年，因兒子不願繼承他的養鹿事業，他只好每天仍守護著他的「鹿兒女」們。

「鹿茸救了我一命」周添財說，他原本從事進口貿易，40歲就因糖尿病、甲狀腺功能損害等疾病纏身，差點送命；當時他因為好玩養了一頭公鹿一頭母鹿，經朋友指導，他嘗試吃鹿茸，開始有計畫養鹿。

周添財說，最高紀錄曾養到60餘頭鹿，現在只剩下40多頭，每天清晨，當大部分在睡夢中，他就到鹿場忙碌著，送草給鹿兒吃；每次進入鹿場，周添財總會「小朋友、小朋友」的喊著，讓牠們知道他來了；跟鹿朝夕「混」在一起，他和牠們建立起互相信任及密不可分的情感。

有一回一頭水鹿的蹄甲受傷嚴重，鹿為保護自己攻擊力變強，尤其不讓任何人接近牠的蹄，在聽到周添財聲音後，居然主動的伸出蹄來，讓他上藥。

從一開始對鹿的不了解，養鹿40多年的周添財，透過自己長年累月的研究與觀察，現在已是養鹿達人，只要身體許可，他會一直養下去。
