【時報-台北電】美國國務卿凱瑞22日無預警訪問埃及，並與埃及新任總統席希會談，這是席希就任總統以來，所接見的最高階美國官員。凱瑞除承諾美國將「與埃及民眾站在一起，支持他們爭取想要的未來」，也向席希施壓，強調言論自由和法治的重要性，並表達對埃及政府鎮壓異議分子的關注。

凱瑞表示，強力鎮壓「穆斯林兄弟會」，只會導致分裂。埃及法院21日才宣布，判處183名「穆斯林兄弟會」成員死刑。

對於埃及政府迫害人權及限制言論自由，美方表達強烈關注。2013年，席希領導的軍方罷黜「穆斯林兄弟會」出身的首位民選總統穆爾西，美國和埃及的關係即陷入僵局，並凍結13億美元（約台幣390億元）的軍援經費。

凱瑞此行如同對席希軟硬兼施，除了施壓要求實行民主，也帶了大禮。美已解除凍結的5.75億美元軍援，並在過去10天分次撥給。另外，美國也撥交10架阿帕契直升機，加強在西奈半島軍事衝突的因應。（新聞來源：中國時報─記者簡恒宇／綜合報導）
