國一數學資優生 從小全英文

「真是不簡單！」光復國中一年級學生鄭育奇是數學資優生，曾獲HCMC金牌獎，在數學參賽成就與經驗不計其數，英文表現也不凡，上月通過全民英檢中高級複試，創下學校最優紀錄，學校老師忍不住對他按個讚。

「育奇是怎麼唸英文的啊？」「他有在國外住過嗎？」鄭育奇（見圖，黃筱珮攝）的媽媽朱南平是小學老師，她說常有人問她這些問題，事實上，育奇是土生土長的台灣小孩。她認為，育奇的英文好，是因為家裡從小營造「全英文」的環境。

朱南平從小就跟孩子講英文，並借英文書、買英文卡通DVD給孩子看，培養其英文能力。育奇超愛閱讀，英文書和卡通可以反覆看了又看。

朱南平認為，小孩太早學英文，中文反而不扎實，「容易講成倒裝句」，字也容易寫錯，例如育奇曾把「小巷漫游」的作文題目寫成「小卷漫游」。

若能重來一次，她希望兼顧育奇的中英文能力，可能會從5、6歲才讓育奇學英文，先把中文的底子打好。

英數都很棒的鄭育奇將來希望能進麻省理工學院就讀，師長都寄予祝福。

光復中學國中部主任梁正哲表示，鄭育奇數理科資優，自主學習能力特別強，學校經過特殊資優教育會議決議，給予鄭生更寬廣自學空間，並同意跳級選讀高一數學，希望幫助鄭生的學習成就發展更大。
