Bloomberg Bond Trader報價顯示，紐約債市24日尾盤時，美國5年期公債殖利率上升2個基點至1.73%、盤中最高升至1.77%創1月9日新高；10年期公債殖利率下跌1個基點至2.73%；30年期公債殖利率則下挫5個基點至3.56%。5年期、30年期公債殖利率利差在24日當天最低一度縮減至1.83個百分點，創2009年10月以來新低，過去五年的利差平均為2.23個百分點。債券價格與殖利率呈現反向走勢。
彭博社報導，CIBC World Markets Corp.總監兼公債交易部主管Tom Tucci表示，殖利率曲線走平反映了兩種市場的變化，其一是短天期公債殖利率因FED可能升息而攀高，其二是長天期公債殖利率因經濟低成長、通膨壓力偏低而下跌。他說，FED向市場釋出緊縮貨幣政策的訊息，而債市正在為這個新的發展進行調適。
華爾街日報報導，雖然過去幾天來FED官員試圖安撫市場情緒，但公債殖利率曲線仍持續走平。舊金山聯邦儲備銀行總裁John Williams 24日在接受專訪時表示，FED上週並未暗示央行會提前緊縮貨幣政策。
在區域政治危機方面，美國總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)以及其他西方國家領袖決定將俄羅斯總統普丁(Vladimir V. Putin)自八大工業國(G8)中剔除，以抗議俄國侵入烏克蘭併吞克里米亞半島的行徑，這一度讓5年期公債殖利率跳升至1月份高點。此外，芝加哥聯邦儲備銀行調查的景氣指數優於市場預期，也讓公債價格在稍早走低。
