【時報-台北電】美國加州聖馬利諾（San Marino）市長丹尼斯‧尼爾（Dennis Kneier）十幾天前隨手朝鄰居家的庭院丟了一袋狗屎，監視器畫面曝光後引發軒然大波，備受外界抨擊。尼爾最終在17日正式提交辭職信，辭去市長一職，他將繼續留在市議會擔任議員。華裔副市長孫渝今（Eugene Sun）暫時代理市長一職。聖馬利諾市議會將在27日上午重選市長、副市長。

代理市長孫渝今表示，「我覺得這是一個很正確的決定，表示他有擔當，同時也讓我們市民的憤怒也比較和緩一點。」

6月7日，聖馬利諾市長尼爾與妻子在走過鄰居劉紀銘住家外人行道時，將手裡的狗屎袋用力丟向劉家方向，劉紀銘隨後報警。尼爾被警方開出罰單，並寫公開信向劉紀銘道歉，也在市議會上道歉，但對方無法接受；劉紀銘甚至表示，尼爾是因為雙方過去針對在市內興建狗狗公園的議題有歧見，因此對他丟狗屎洩恨。（新聞來源：中時即時 金櫻潔）
