鐵血帕波維奇 締造馬刺傳奇

從曾認真考慮當CIA探員，變成帶領馬刺拿下5次NBA總冠軍的傳奇教練，總是讓人又愛又恨的帕波維奇，卻因具備國際觀的特殊成長背景，搭配帶人先帶心的領軍風格，成功打造馬刺這支強大的「國際軍團」。

父親是塞爾維亞人，母親來自克羅埃西亞，從小在美國長大的帕波維奇，毅然選擇就讀美國空軍軍官學校，一邊打球，一邊主修蘇聯（俄羅斯前身）研究，甚至還到空軍情報單位服役，並帶隊到東歐列國打友誼賽。

就是這段截然不同的經歷，讓帕波維奇擁有優秀國際觀與教練哲學。1988年進入NBA執教，先後在馬刺與勇士擔任助教，1996年起接掌馬刺總教練兵符，展開輝煌的NBA教練生涯。

帕波維奇帶領馬刺的18季中，扣除1996-97年的菜鳥教頭球季，他年年帶領馬刺闖進季後賽，拿過5次總冠軍，3次當選年度最佳總教練（2003、2012、2014年），但他最著名的，仍是鐵血且強調紀律的風格。

鄧肯、帕克、吉諾比利等「愛徒」，至今仍經常在場上被帕總罵到臭頭，更別提其他球員，但帕總不僅是罵，也努力跟球員解釋觀念或戰術，講求團隊勝於個人，在馬刺絕對看不到所謂的「大牌」。

不過帕波維奇最具爭議之處，在於他不買媒體的「帳」，除了被封為NBA最難訪問的教練，更不畏懼痛批媒體，每個想採訪他的記者都得提心吊膽，但這就是帕波維奇，或許是這種愛恨分明的個性，才造就他今日的偉大。
