Taiwan market: HTC launches HTC One mini 2 smartphone

HTC has launched its HTC One mini 2 in the Taiwan market with a suggested retail price of NT$13,900 (US$463), targeting the mid-range 4G segment.
The HTC mini 2 sports a Qualcomm 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 4.5-inch HD touchscreen, 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera and supporting LTE 700/900/1800MHz frequency bands.
HTC will promote the model in cooperation with Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and Vibo Telecom.
Buoyed by the launch of the HTC One (M8), HTC ranked as the second-largest smartphone vendor in the local market in April in terms of sales volume with a 16% share, trailing after only Samsung Electronics, according to data compiled by local retail channels.
However, HTC served as the number one vendor in terms of sales value in April with a 26% share, up from 17% a month earlier. Samsung took the second title with a 23% share.
LTE-enabled smartphones launched by HTC in the local market so far include the HTC One max, HTC One 4G LTE, HTC Butterfly S 4G LTE, HTC One (M8), HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 610 and HTC One mini 2.
