港海關查獲走私穿山甲麟片

香港海關今天指出，近一月來在兩個進口貨櫃中，查獲3340公斤瀕危物種穿山甲鱗片，總值約1700萬港元。這是香港近五年來的最大宗走私穿山甲鱗片案，海關已拘捕一名46歲馬來西亞籍男子。

香港海關說，5月28日在葵涌海關大樓驗貨場，抽查一個來自非洲肯尼亞以廢膠料報關的貨櫃時，查獲總值500萬元的穿山甲鱗片。

香港海關人員根據線報，上星期三又在一個來自喀麥隆、報稱載有木材的貨櫃內，檢獲2340公斤穿山甲鱗片。香港海關相信，兩批貨屬於同一走私集團，準備運往東南亞地區出售，而被捕男子負責入貨及安排船務。

港府漁護署表示，待海關完成調查後，會考慮將檢獲的穿山甲鱗片用作教育用途或銷毀。

有香港中醫師表示，穿山甲鱗片有清熱解毒，止痕癢及清瘡排濃作用，對治療腫瘤性疾病亦有幫助。但港府漁護署表示，暫時未有科學證據確定鱗片的藥效。
