牛身開洞做研究　動保團體批殘忍

牛隻一直被指是排放溫室氣體甲烷的元兇之一，瑞士便有科研人員把14頭牛的身體開洞，以便直接觀察胃部消化情況，甚至伸手把胃內正在消化的食物取出，從而進行分析研究。

動物組織直斥這種研究方式過於殘忍。 牛隻的身體被開出一個直徑約8吋寬的洞，並植入塑膠插管連接瘤胃(Rumen)。科研人員和農夫透過這個洞，便能直接觀看瘤胃裏的消化情況，平時則以塑膠塞子封閉。除了觀察，科研人員還會從胃部取出內裏正在消化的草和燕麥等食物，然後進行分析研究，以了解牠們消化的效率，製作更適合牛隻消化的飼料，從而減少牠們所排放的甲烷。

然而牛隻身體被開洞，變成「科學怪牛」，還要被人從胃部直接抽出食物，情況駭人。動物權益組織便批評是虐待牛隻，形容有關做法殘忍。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
