章子怡18日在坎城為電影《太平輪》宣傳，表示自己視謙恭有禮的導演吳宇森為典範，但她好強的個性卻與吳大相逕庭。「我在打壓下成長！」從小就鮮少被誇獎的她，認為自己難得自滿，「我總覺得自己不夠好，還想要更好！」

她最佩服吳宇森的謙虛，「他非常恭敬，無論對演員、工作人員都很尊重。」吳的處事之道讓她感悟：「我們在生活中，也不要太把自己當回事。我覺得我們現在最大的問題就是，當我們有一點點成績時，無意間就會變得飄飄然。」

日前，宋慧喬在《太平輪》記者會上被誇「亞洲最美」時，一旁的章子怡笑得有點僵，對讚美的渴求顯而易見。她說：「我一直是在被打壓的狀態下成長。」從小老師、父母很少誇她，她和李安拍《臥虎藏龍》時，李也總以高標準嚴格激勵她，處在缺少讚美的環境下，她永遠想力爭上游。

她坦承拍《太平輪》特別辛苦，是否跟家人或愛人汪峰傾訴？她硬氣的說：「我不太會和別人說什麼，這些都是我自己願意的。」
